Rate Details
By selecting the per hour rate you MUST be able to edit RAW files! To take advantage of this rate as you will have to edit the photos yourself. Raw files are not usable as prints or for digital formats! Please do not disappoint yourself and select this option unless you understand advanced digital photo editing techniques. RAW files can look...ugly!
All prices are for photos delivered in digital form on a CD or DVD as required.
Prints are an additional expense.
There is a fee of $10 per CD or $12 per DVD disk.
Some clients may be able to download files from hidden pages within the Candlelight Website for limited times without being charged for this service. Please contact us for the location of these pages. Only authorized persons will be given access to these page locations.
Travel expenses are not included in the hourly rates.
There are no travel expenses within a 30 mile radius of the Louisville, Kentucky main Post Office.
Full day rates will also include an hour break that expenses for one meal; this is a non-fee hour of down time.
Basic edits are also called proof photos, these are standard issue and may be printed as is.
Standard CD/DVD disks include proof photos.
Proof photos are edited for tone, color and sharpening - that is cropped or other editing is not included. With further editing we can/may impart clever techniques in the follow-up process to produce a photo that you'd never expect to get from a proof photo.
One may order prints directly from the proofs without further corrections in either prints or other file formats. Standard file format is a high resolution JPG file from the original RAW format.
Original capture is 10.2MP at 13"x8.5" with 300dpi in RAW format.
Photo Totals Per Hour (Anticipated Capture Rates)
This depends largely on the photography being performed. There will be many more photos of events than of a standard portrait shoot, glamour shot or product still life.
Event photography may run up to 100 photos per hour of capture of which 20-80% will be available for use.
Portrait and glamour photography averages about 20 captures per hour of which at least 10 will be available for use. Sets and lighting require time to set up and move between shots.
Product still life averages around ten photos per hour due to lighting and set production time requirements.
Photo editing fees are $125 per hour.
These fees are for any requests to modify a photo beyond basic tone, color and sharpening of the RAW image. Depending on edit request anywhere from one photo in two or three hours up to ten photos per hour can be edited. Each case is different and the photo in question will need to be reviewed prior to an estimate of time being applied.
